I wanted to watch it to see how old I really am, and if i'm out of touch with today's music and all. Surprisingly I knew most of the nominations, and based on VMAs alone, I have to say music has gotten better this year comparing to past years.

But of course all the water cooler talk around town is Britney. I felt so bad for her. It really was like watching a train wreck, I didn't wanna watch it, but couldn't stop. It seemed like she was afraid to move her head so that her wig wouldn't fall off. Why doesn't she just get a very cute short cut? She looked like she was on some serious meds. And why does she stlil lipsynch???

Anyway, I needed to get that out

Britney was singing at the VMAs? i'm embarrassed to say but i dont watch music channels/shows.

Don't be embarrassed! I don't either! I watch the award shows if I happen to find out they're on.

hehe, even if i flip though channels and find one on, i'm very unlikely to leave it on that channel.

Well, I actually wanted to watch it because of Britney. I knew it was gonna be bad, but I had to see it for myself.

I love some of her house remixes of songs. So I was really hoping she'd do good. Poor girl.

I don't watch music channels or shows most of the time either. The closest I come to watching a "music" show is when I watch Gene Simmons Family Jewels...and that's on A&E or something, so doesn't count. Music channels are fn boring anymore. They used to be hot to watch, now it's just generic schpiel. Their schedule:

TOP 10, TOP 5, TOP Requests (same as Top 5 & 10), Dating show, group dating show, another dating show, fake reality show, annoying jerk stunt show, lather rinse repeat.

Unless it's VH1, then it's Remember the 80s, remember the 90s, where are they now, some music, some other irrelevant show...lather rinse repeat...

Britney, I think, is an example of someone who didn't know how to bow out gracefully.

You guys should check out the International Music Channel. I found it by accident one time when I was flipping channels. You know what was on? Start wearing purple

Yeah, I watched the first half of the show. Then I fell asleep. I didn't really like the format they had this year. It was too sporadic. With regard to Britney...all I can say is that if you are going to make a 'comeback' you better bust your ass working to impress everyone. This morning they were saying that she was out partying both nights 'til 3 in the morning. Her performance was terrible!!! She is starting to remind me more and more of Anna Nicole. I hope she doesn't end up like her.

I am definitely nobody to talk to about being out of shape, but if you're going to perform in a bathing suit you better prepare your body for that!

I just read on CNN that last night on VMAs Tommy Lee and Kid Rock threw punches at each other. But it wasnt on camera. Why would you fight over Pamela? ewww!

i know exactly what u mean.......my eyes were hurting from all the switching around......from suite to suite...to main stage.....ahhhhhh

I still can't over the hair. I think it would actually work for her if she had short hair. To show she's changed and stuff.

Wow I just watched the video, it looks like she didn't even try. She was just standing there barely doing the moves like she was rehearsing them for the first time. She really needs to take care of herself, she's become a joke and nothing more. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do for someone when drugs come into the mix, and a person is rich to boot. It seems like that combo (sucess + drugs) equals an early death. Tough love sometimes is the only thing, but her money is all-too comforting I'm sure...

I feel bad for her children.

Sarah Silverman was opening a show with her not so funny comedy, and said that Britney's kids are the cutest little mistakes you'll ever see. Or something to that extend.

Now, I like raw comedy and all, but it's not so funny for the little kids...
