Today the National Enquirer says that Patrick Swayze has pancreatic cancer that has rapidly spread to other organs, leaving him with just five weeks to live.

In a shocking world exclusive, The NATIONAL ENQUIRER has uncovered the devastating news that the beloved Hollywood actor and dancer was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs.
For the past month, Patrick, 55, has been traveling to Stanford University's prestigious cancer center in Palo Alto for radical chemotherapy, but his doctors are no longer optimistic that the treatments will be successful.
He received three doses of chemotherapy and the tumor shrank, but less than his doctors had hoped for — and Patrick was told he should prepare for the end.
"He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure," said an insider.

Hey, Doctors, if you're wondering why everyone hates you, it's because of stuff like this. Don’t you ever have anything nice to say? How about for once, instead of saying, "the bullet nicked your spine and now you're paralyzed for life", how about, "the bullet nicked your spine, and now ... YOU CAN FLY!"
Sad nooooooooo Sad((((((((((((((((

fk. man that pancreatic cancer again. death sentence is what it is.
Quote:Swayze has been undergoing treatment for the disease, Wolf confirmed in a statement. The National Cancer Institute estimates there will be 37,680 new cases of pancreatic cancer in 2008 with 34,290 deaths in the U.S.; only five percent of patients live more than five years after being diagnosed.

"Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far," Swayze's physician Dr. George Fisher said in a statement released by Wolf. "All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic."

So, relatively good news regarding Patrick Swayze and his fight with pancreatic cancer. While it has been confirmed that he is sick and receiving treatment at Stanford University Hospital as the National Enquirer said (more here), his prognosis may not be as dire as once thought. According to People magazine, his doctor said yesterday:
"Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the time frame of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic."

And his rep said:

"Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family."
Dirty Dancing is the movie of my childhood...I've seen it at least 10 timesSmile...I really like him!!!
