I have an Archos MP3 player, had it for about 3 years. I dropped it on the floor numerous times and now when I connect it to a PC it freezes. I have about 300 songs on it that I would live to copy to a cd but cant do it since it freezes. However, I can charge the player through a pc. Also, the player does play the music. Is there a way to retrieve the data from it?
you should probably call their customer service, maybe they can guide you through it...
I think I should have warranty in order to call them, but I dont have it. I dont want to pay to retrieve it either.
nah, you need warranty if oujgonna send it in. if they can guide you through it on the phone, i think its free... if it's doable.
Did you try to connect it to another PC and see if it will freeze too?

no I didnt try doing that, but I only have one PC and my work laptop is pretty low on memory so I dont want to kill it.
Well, it might be a driver issue on that particular PC, so I would definately try another one prior to calling the tech support. I'm pretty sure they will ask you to do the same thing.
