http://guillermohabacucvargas.blogspot.com/In 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from the street, tied him to a rope in an art gallery and began starving him to death.

For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibition watched, emotionless, the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's agony, until eventually he died.

Does THIS sound like art to you?

But this is not all... the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of Central America decided that the 'installation' WAS actually art, so Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the Biennial of 2008.

I can't believe it. This 'artist ' should be in court.

or maybe we should do the same to this artists family member and call it "art" as well.

From wikipedia.com

"He refused to say whether the dog survived the show but the director of the Códice Gallery said that the animal was fed regularly and was only tied up for three hours on one day before it escaped."

I'm not making any claims one way or another, but it seems as though we could have missed out on the whole story here. As you guys know, mass media is known to blow things out of the proportion. I could be completely wrong though, after all, wikipedia is not exactly a reliable source neither.
I just signed a min ago . my # was 2211249 and now they have 2211309. It is rolling fo fast...

From www.artinfo.com

"Vargas leashed a stray dog named Natividad in the gallery without food or water as part of his work. He also wrote the words "Eres Lo Que Lees" (You Are What You Read) in dog biscuits for the piece, while playing the Sandinista anthem backwards and setting 175 pieces of crack cocaine alight in a giant incense burner."

"Juanita Bermudez, director of the gallery, insists that Natividad was untied at all times except for the three hours the exhibition lasted, was regularly fed by the artist, and escaped after a day. Vargas said that the piece meant to test the public and that none of the exhibition's visitors intervened to help the animal."
